Whale Watching & Dolphin Adventure Cruises 2024

This will be our 15th successful year of running these awesome adventure cruises!

So if you’re interested in setting sail in search of these beautiful mammals, come hop aboard the American Princess, the original NYC Whale and Dolphin Watchers, for a UNIQUE Adventure Cruise!

The New York City Whale Watching and Dolphin Adventure Cruise departs from Pier 3 in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, New York (click here for directions). Looking toward the Marine Parkway Bridge, one may see a peregrine falcon diving for prey. As we approach Breezy Point jetty, we may view gannets diving for the glorified bunker bait. Dolphins may appear as walls of water off the coast of New York City. We may view hundreds of bottlenose dolphins jumping near and under the American Princess.

Further offshore toward Ambrose Channel, the entrance to New York harbor, we may see the blow of a whale and hear the captain shout, “Thar she blows!” Slowly, we approach the humpback whale who has finished his first course of bunker and is jumping with excitement and joy, as if to impress the passengers aboard the American Princess. And he is a beauty; approximately 45 feet in length, weighing about 40 tons. His 20 foot pectoral fin seems to be waving to all. Will we spot his companions?

Note: We suggest bringing a regular camera, video camera and/or binoculars if possible. Children will be encouraged to participate in helping our crew take the official whale and dolphin count. Our captains and crew work diligently to make every trip a success. We have a 90% sighting rate of a whale and/or dolphin. However, sightings are not guaranteed.
Cruises are Rain or Shine
There is a 24-hour cancellation policy
In the event of a cancellation, the customer is responsible for making another reservation

Ticket purchases are good only for the 2024 Whale Watching and Dolphin Adventure Cruise season
While there is no charge for children under 5, you must make a reservation for them
Your proof of purchase (Paypal receipt/Credit Card receipt/voucher) will serve as your ticket
You do NOT need a PayPal account to make purchases through PayPal
Children must be accompanied by an adult
A small children’s stroller can be brought aboard
Coolers and outside alcoholic beverages are prohibited
Cash bar available on board
Passengers subject to search (as permitted by the US Coast Guard)
Captain’s recommendation: Due to NYC traffic we advise that you plan to arrive at Pier 8 Sheepshead Bay 60 minutes before the departure time
